I took this cover off of the computer while I was replacing the DVD writer. After I got the DVD writer working, I couldn't see any reason to replace the cover. So far as I can tell by looking, it's in good condition. I think that there was a tiny spring attached to the cover when I removed it, but I don't remember for sure. If there was such a spring, it's long gone now.
